WITHAM 1stX1 173-10 IPSWICH 1stX1207-8
After the previous week when Witham's bowlers took some stick, hard work in the nets during the week bought about improvement. Batting first Ipswich opening batsmen found it hard against the opening attack of Matt McKendry and Paul Bellehewe. McKendry bowling his limit of six overs took 2 for 9. Witham had Ipswich 54-4 after 17 overs. Bellehewe bowled his 15 overs straight through taking 1-54. Leroy Facey with 1-32 and Peter Allen 2-27. McKendry was bought back into the attack taking 3 more wickets and finishing with good figures of 4 for 36 from 11 overs. Ipswich managed to recover and finished on 207- 8 off their 45 overs. Like the Witham Bowlers of last week it was the batsmens turn to let the side down so perhaps some net practise will bring results. Richard Green 32 , Leroy Facey 36 and Paul Bellehewe 29 made any impression on the score and Witham were bowled out for 173 leaving Ipswich winners by 34 runs.
